Declines in U.S. newspaper circulation continued through the six months leading into September but at slower rates than previous months, according to Bloomberg News. Major newspapers such as the New York Times, USA Today and the Los Angeles Times all declared a loss of fewer readers than compared to a year ago.
In addition, according to a report by the Audit Bureau of Circulations, average circulation of dailies dropped by 5 percent over the year, marking a slower decline compared to March's 8.7 percent year-over-year decline.
But for New York City entrepreneurs who look to the Wall Street Journal for news and resources for launching an LLC, comfort can be found in the esteemed investment newspaper's 1.8 percent increase in circulation, including the paper's online subscribers.
The findings come among continued woes for print publications as a whole. However, last week a Massachusetts investor announced plans to bid on a purchase of the Boston Globe from the New York Times Co., citing the Boston daily as a viable business.
