More than 170 entrepreneurs looking to incorporate in Texas recently got some firsthand advice from 20 area lenders at the Dallas Small Business Development Center''s "Deal Day," the Dallas Morning News reports.
"Banks are lending to start-ups," Dallas entrepreneur Veronica Graves - who got three lender appointments at the event - told the paper. "It''s encouraging."
The SBDC told the Morning News that its services have been in high demand because of the growing interest of entrepreneurs looking to start companies. The Deal Day event was an opportunity to give entrepreneurs firsthand feedback from banks - even if that advice was to reevaluate a certain aspect of their business plans before starting out.
Many lenders said that while they aren''t doing as much small business lending as they were before the recession, they are giving out loans for companies looking to buy equipment or facilities for their small businesses.
Area entrepreneurs can benefit from a very productive business climate. A recent CNBC study ranked Texas as the top state in the country for businesses.
