The Central Arizona College Small Business Development Center is teaming up with Consumer Credit Counseling Services and the United Way of Pinal County to host a series of free financial planning workshops for consumers and those interested in learning how to create an LLC in Arizona.
The two-hour sessions will cover a variety of topics, including debt management, operating on a shoestring budget and understanding how to improve your credit score. Officials told inMaricopa.com that many local entrepreneurs didn''t understand how their scores could affect their plans to start a small business.
"Potential business owners and existing business owners were applying for loans and their credit scores were not high enough to qualify," Jim Rhodes, the director of the SBDC, told the site. "These seminars are designed to help people make informed decisions about their financial planning."
The classes will be held monthly at the the Small Business Development Center''s office at Central Arizona College.
To register for any of the workshops - which will run through December - interested entrepreneurs can register online at CreditEducation.org, email the center at sbdc@centralaz.edu or contact the office by phone at 520-494-6610.
