Those considering a new business in Arizona may be heartened to learn that the state's history features a number of innovative business startups that flourish to this day, according to an article from the Arizona Republic.
Perhaps one of the most famous Arizona companies to make it big in recent years is GoDaddy.com, an internet domain name registry service. The newspaper reports that, although owner Bob Parsons was already successful from a previous software venture in Iowa, he saw a niche that needed filling and went for it.
Other firms are more local institutions, according to the Republic, including the Rock Springs Cafe, Shamrock Dairy and Brown Evans Distributing, which got their starts in 1918, 1920 and 1941, respectively, and are still a part of the Arizona landscape.
According to small business experts, it is frequently a wise move to form an LLC in Arizona when starting a company there. This can protect a business owner from any lawsuits targeting his or her company and help keep tax liability under control.
