Entrepreneurs looking to incorporate in California are entering a highly entrepreneurial region of the country. Silicon Valley hosts some of the biggest tech firms - and most famous startups - in the world, many of which were founded by luminaries such as Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk.
However, despite the sensationalism of the American entrepreneur, many businesses are created as partnerships - a strategy that seeks to combine the strengths and advantages of both founders.
But as successful as some business partnerships may be, they are equally in danger of falling apart. One of the earliest signs of a weak partnership is poor communication.
"It's the cornerstone of every happy marriage, and the downfall for many failed partnerships," writes Dave Smith for Inc. magazine. "The fact is, problems are bound to arise with every new business venture, and proper communication at the earliest juncture is absolutely crucial to the ongoing success of the partnership."
It's also important to note that prospective investors - be they angels or venture capitalists - will be keenly observant of how the founders work together, as they know such a relationship can make or break a business idea.
