In a move many analysts have suggested reflects his desire to improve ties with the business community, President Barack Obama will visit leaders in the California high tech industry this week to discuss job creation, innovation and green energy, among other topics affecting entrepreneurs looking to incorporate in California.
The president will visit the San Francisco Bay Area on Thursday and the Hillsboro, Oregon, campus of computer chip manufacturer Intel on Friday.
"The president has been reaching out to CEOs over the past couple months and will continue to do that," White House Deputy Communications Director Jen Psaki told Bloomberg Television. "On his way to Oregon on Friday, he will meet with some technology CEOs."
Obama has recently been touting a new economic plan for the country that focuses on renewed investment in innovation, education and job creation - an initiative outlined in the president's recent State of the Union address.
Often referred to as keys to "winning the future," Obama's plan can also be seen in his $3.7 trillion budget proposal to Congress. The spending plan makes a number of significant cuts to federal programs, but relies on investment as a means of spurring job growth, which the president believes is critical to revenue growth and, hence, balancing the national deficit.
