The New York City Department of Small Business Services announced Monday it has expanded or improved a number of services on its NYC Business Express online small business resource site.

The redesigned site will make it easier for entrepreneurs and small business owners to find information and application materials to help them launch, expand or incorporate in New York City.

"We are constantly looking for new and better ways to help businesses cut through red tape," said Small Business Services Commissioner Robert W. Walsh. "With our partners in more than 20 agencies, we will continue to build out NYC Business Express with this goal in mind."

The Business Express Wizard already provides step-by-step guides and information for virtually all sectors in the Big Apple. It also affords users the ability to apply and pay for 54 different licenses, permits and certifications from various government bodies.

In recent months, New York City has begun a policy of small business promotion and development. Initiatives by Mayor Michael Bloomberg have centered around a doctrine of fiscal responsibility and smarter government programs - measures the self-made billionaire has argued contributed to the addition of 55,000 private sector jobs in New York since last October.
