The Scholastic Building in the Soho neighborhood of Manhattan will hold New York Entrepreneur Week November 8-12. The initiative will seek to promote early-stage business development and entrepreneurial activity throughout the state of New York through a series of roundtable discussions, conferences and networking campaigns, as well as a host of other events.

"Entrepreneurs are looking for sound, credible and straightforward advice, especially during these tough economic times," said New York Entrepreneur Week founder Gary Whitehill. "NYEW is designed to address the many pressures entrepreneurs and small business owners face today, providing actionable information that stimulates business and job growth."

Some of the key speakers include Maria Gotsch, president and CEO of the New York City Investment Fund; Yosi Sergant, curator of the Obama HOPE campaign; and Seth Pinsky, president of the New York City Economic Development Corp.

The speakers will provide insight into launching a business or LLC in New York and, many hope, inspire young entrepreneurs to follow through with their business ideas. As the U.S. economy stalls in its recovery and New York state places dead last in a recent list of the most tax-friendly states for business, starting a business in New York has been as tough as ever. New York Entrepreneur Week seeks to alleviate that burden.
