Small business owners and entrepreneurs looking to launch an LLC in Houston, Chicago or San Francisco may find some help from a new advertising platform released by Google this week. The program, called Boost, will allow local small businesses to create ads that appear in the "Sponsored Links" column in Google search or map results.

The ads are created from a Google Places account and feature basic information, a map and a line or two about the business, as written by the owner. Because Google will assign keywords and its advertising algorithm itself, no upkeep or SEO is required.

"We hope Boost provides busy local business owners with a quick and easy way to share information about themselves with the people who look for them online," wrote Kiley McEvoy, product manager for Google, in a post on the company’s official blog. "Placement in the 'Sponsored Links' section of the page will, as always, depend on factors such as your ad’s relevance and quality."

The budget for Boost advertisements depends on how many clicks they generate, but estimates range from $60 to $300 per month.

Currently, Boost is only available as a Beta launch in Houston, San Francisco and Chicago, with expansion to the rest of the country expected soon.
